A typical dry ice blasting session for a car can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours, but some intensive cleaning sessions can take 12 or more hours.

In general we allow:

•  2 hours for engine bay cleaning 
•  3 - 5 hours focused on running gear and underbody areas 

It works through three effects: kinetic energy from the pellets, thermal shock from the extreme cold (-78.5°C), and sublimation, where dry ice turns into gas upon impact, lifting contaminants.

Limitations on Heavy Rust:

For thick or deeply embedded rust, dry ice blasting may not be as effective. It lacks the abrasiveness required to completely strip away heavy rust layers, which often necessitates additional treatments like sandblasting or grinding.

Dry ice blasting costs approximately $390 per hour.

This rate includes labor, equipment, and consumables.

However, costs can vary depending on location and specific job requirements.

It's important to note that while the hourly rate may seem high, dry ice blasting can be more cost-effective than traditional cleaning methods in many industrial applications due to reduced downtime and labor costs
